How you doing, kawaii neko girls? Nya~ Rawr~

Hitoshi-san (等しいさん Hitoshii-san) is one of the main characters in Nyan~ Neko Sugar Girls. He is Raku-chan's love interest. He seems to be the butt of some of the jokes in the series, and often ends his sentences with his catchphrase, “Nya, rawr~.”

Appearance

He has short, spiky blue hair with messy bangs in front of his face. His eyes are bright red, though they are colored orange in some episodes.

Hitoshi wears a black crewneck shirt and blue jeans. In Episode 1, when he wore a short-sleeved shirt instead of a long-sleeved one.

Background

Hitoshi-san became good friends with Raku-chan and Koneko-chan after meeting them in Episode 1. The three friends would go on to have many fun adventures throughout the series. He often calls them "kawaii/cute" and speaks to them in a flirtatious manner, though seems to be oblivious to Raku's feelings for him.

In Episode 2, he was kidnapped by Bokutachi-san. His call for help did not go unnoticed by his friends, who quickly chased after Bokutachi's van to save him. In Bokutachi's house, Hitoshi was initially indignant at his unfair treatment, but then began to blush as he looked into his kidnapper's eyes. This moment was interrupted by Raku and Koneko crashing through the window, and Raku proceeded to untie Hitoshi while Koneko subdued the kidnapper. Hitoshi thanked the girls for their timely rescue and walked off, seemingly unaffected by the experience.

However, Hitoshi would begin to daydream about his kidnapper in later episodes, strongly implying a case of Stockholm syndrome. In the finale, he reveals that he and Bokutachi have become a couple, which causes Raku's heart to break. Hitoshi feels guilt over being the cause of Raku's death, and even temporarily stays in denial, asserting that Raku will come back someday.

Name Etymology

Hitoshī (等しい) roughly translates to “equal”.

Relationships

Bokutachi-san

Hitoshi and Bokutachi have a rocky start to their relationship. They first meet in Episode 2, when Bokutachi breaks into Hitoshi's house before kidnapping him. Later on, there are moments in episodes that shows Hitoshi fantasizing about him. It is proven in Episode 10 that Hitoshi and Bokutachi are dating, as this is the cause of Raku's heart breaking, and ultimately her death.

Raku-chan

Raku has a one-sided crush on him. When they first met in Episode 1, Raku quickly fell in love with him and became shy around him, often stuttering her words. She later grows more confident around him as they spend more time together. Although Hitoshi seems to be oblivious to her feelings, he cares greatly about her as a friend.

After finding out in the final episode that he is dating Bokutachi, Raku tragically dies of heartbreak. However, even in her final moments, she wished nothing but the best for Hitoshi, hoping that he and his boyfriend would be happy together. Hitoshi is deeply saddened by her death
